MAHLE RemotePRO Air Delivers Remote Diagnostics for Workshops

MAHLE RemotePRO Air Remote Diagnostics

First-of-its-kind remote diagnostics

MAHLE’s RemotePRO Air function, launched in early December 2025, is described as the first tool to provide multi-franchise and independent workshops with remote access to connected vehicles. Integrated into the TechPRO 2 diagnostic tool, RemotePRO Air leverages cloud-based manufacturer data, eliminating the need for vehicles to be physically on site. The rollout coincides with the UK’s move toward implementing the Security-related Repair and Maintenance Information (SERMI) scheme.

How it works and supported brands

Workshops initiate data requests through TechPRO 2, and the vehicle owner must approve access before diagnostics commence. The system currently supports BMW, Mini, Mercedes-Benz and Smart vehicles, with additional brands to be added over time. By using manufacturer-specific data remotely, technicians can perform preventive maintenance, rapid fault diagnosis and post-repair monitoring without needing to visit the vehicle in person.

MAHLE Remote Diagnostics Economic Efficiency

Economic efficiency and user benefits

According to MAHLE management committee member Philipp Grosse Kleimann, RemotePRO Air allows workshops to improve economic efficiency through intelligent planning and optimised processes. The feature is included with all active TechPRO 2 licences and operates on a pay-per-use model, using Mahle Coins that are charged only when diagnostics are successfully completed. This approach minimises costs for shops and aligns with the trend towards digital services in the aftermarket.

Ongoing development and outlook

Future updates will introduce functions such as fault memory clearing, real-time data streaming and extended maintenance information. MAHLE executives believe remote diagnostics will become a core component of repair and service operations, supporting both internal-combustion and electrified vehicles. By pioneering remote access and data-driven maintenance, MAHLE is positioning itself as a technology partner for workshops navigating an increasingly connected and digitalised automotive landscape.
